Meadowlark reopening signifies final project in Andover bond issue Staff reports

Andover Superintendent Mark Evans, far left, and Board of Education member Nancy Kirkendoll, far right, help students in a ribbon cutting to celebrate the renovation of their new school.

Meadowlark Elementary had its public "grand reopening" on Oct. 17, celebrating the final project in an Andover bond issue passed by a nearly 3 to 1 margin four years ago.

Superintendent Mark Evans was on hand to assist in a ribbon cutting. There was then a tour of Meadowlark, complete with photos and articles about the building and the community through the years, followed by a hot dog lunch in the cafeteria.

Also, a time capsule was filled to celebrate the 50 years that building has been in existence. Here are its contents, courtesy of Keturah Austin, Communications/Media Relations at Andover Public Schools.
